The Drip Menu/Wellness

Detoxglutathione, and a straight answer.

Detox is a 45-minute glutathione-forward IV drip at LUX Med Clinic in Wynne, AR that provides antioxidant support in a fluid base. Your liver and kidneys do your body's actual detoxification, and no drip changes that — what this one does is deliver glutathione, the antioxidant your body already makes, directly into circulation. $129, nurse-administered, health screen included.

01 — What's in the bag

Seven ingredients. Glutathione, and what supports it.

Your nurse confirms what is right for you at your health screen.

01
Normal saline or Lactated Ringer's
The fluid base. Being properly hydrated genuinely does help your kidneys do their job — which is the closest thing to "detox" on this page, and it's the least glamorous part of it.
02
Glutathione
An antioxidant your body makes on its own, found in every cell. It's the reason this drip exists and the ingredient people ask for by name. We don't offer it as a skin-lightening treatment and won't administer it for that purpose.
03
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid)
An antioxidant in its own right, and the one most commonly given alongside glutathione.
04
B-complex (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6)
For the flat, worn-down feeling that usually comes with the stretch that made you book this.
05
Magnesium
Muscle relaxation and general support. It's also why people describe this drip as calming rather than energising.
06
Zinc
Involved in normal antioxidant defense, and one of the more common dietary shortfalls.
07
Amino blend
The building blocks your body uses across the board, included for general support after a heavy stretch.
02 — Is it for me?

For antioxidant support. Nothing more dramatic than that.

People book this after a heavy stretch, before or after travel, or because glutathione is the ingredient they came for. Those are all reasonable. Cleansing your body of accumulated toxins is not what's on offer. Take the drip finder.

Book Detox if you…
Want glutathione by IV, and know what it is
Have had a run of poor sleep, rich food and not enough water, and want to reset the hydration part properly
Take glutathione or antioxidants already and want the IV version occasionally
Book Glow and want the antioxidant end of it without the biotin
Skip it, or ask first, if you…
Are pregnant or breastfeeding
Have asthma — glutathione has been associated with bronchospasm in some people, so your nurse will ask about it directly
Have kidney disease, heart failure, or a history of kidney stones
Have G6PD deficiency, or have reacted to any ingredient listed above
Our nurse screens for all of this at check-in. When in doubt, come in and ask — the screen is free, and “not today” is an answer we are willing to give.
03 — How it feels

Your hour, minute by minute.

0–5 min
Check-in and screen.
A few questions, your blood pressure, and the asthma question this bag needs.
5–10 min
IV placement.
A small needle in the arm or the back of the hand. A quick pinch, then nothing.
10–50 min
The drip.
Recline, blanket, water, Wi-Fi. Glutathione is one of the gentler things we give and most people feel nothing at all beyond the cool sensation in the arm. Some notice a faint sulphur smell — that's the glutathione, and it's normal.
After
Back to your day.
No downtime, no restrictions, drive yourself home. Most people describe feeling generally brighter over the following couple of days rather than anything dramatic on the day.

06 — Questions

Asked at the desk, answered here.

Does this actually detox me?
Your liver and kidneys detoxify you, continuously, whether or not you ever visit us. No IV changes that, and any clinic telling you their bag flushes toxins out of your system is selling you a story. What this drip does is deliver glutathione — an antioxidant your body makes itself — plus fluid and vitamin C. That's a reasonable thing to want. It just isn't a cleanse.
Then why is it called Detox?
Because that's the word people use and search for, and calling it something else would just make it harder to find. We'd rather keep the familiar name and be straight about what's in it than invent a clever name and leave the impression uncorrected.
What is glutathione?
An antioxidant made in every cell of your body, involved in how cells handle oxidative stress. Levels vary between people and tend to fall with age and illness. Giving it by IV puts it straight into circulation. What that does for how you feel is modest and varies a lot — most people describe feeling brighter for a couple of days.
Will it lighten my skin?
It's marketed that way in some places. We don't offer it for that, we won't administer it for that, and there's no product approved for skin lightening by IV. We use glutathione for antioxidant support. If skin lightening is what you're after, this isn't the clinic.
Will it get alcohol out of my system faster?
No. Only time does that. If you're feeling rough after a night, Recover is the honest bag for it — fluids, B vitamins and, if your nurse agrees, something for the nausea.
Why do I smell sulphur?
Glutathione contains sulphur, and some people notice a faint smell or taste during the infusion. It's harmless and passes quickly. We mention it because it surprises people who weren't told.
How often should I have it?
Monthly at most for people who like it, and occasionally for everyone else. There's no case for coming weekly, and your nurse will say so rather than booking you in.
