The Drip Menu/Performance

Metabolicthe GLP-1 companion drip.

Metabolic is a 45-minute IV drip at LUX Med Clinic in Wynne, AR with L-carnitine, B12, B-complex, vitamin C, biotin, B5 and glutamine in a fluid base, made for people who are already working on their weight.

It costs $129, it supports how your body uses fat alongside a plan, and it does not cause weight loss on its own — we'd rather tell you that now than take your money under a different impression.

01 — What's in the bag

Eight ingredients. Each one has a job.

Your nurse confirms what is right for you at your health screen.

01
Normal saline or Lactated Ringer's
The fluid base. Hydration matters more than people expect on a weight plan, particularly on GLP-1 medication where appetite and thirst both drop.
02
L-carnitine
Moves fatty acids into the part of the cell where they're used for energy. It's the ingredient athletes know from recovery bags.
03
Vitamin B12
Involved in energy metabolism, and the ingredient most people on a weight plan are already familiar with.
04
B-complex (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6)
What your body uses to turn food into usable energy.
05
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid)
Antioxidant support.
06
Biotin (vitamin B7)
Involved in how the body handles fats and carbohydrates.
07
Dexpanthenol (vitamin B5)
Part of the same metabolic group.
08
Glutamine
An amino acid used across the body, included here for general support during a period of eating less.
02 — Is it for me?

For people already doing the work.

This bag makes sense as one part of something bigger. On its own, it isn't a weight-loss treatment, and it won't behave like one however often you come. Take the drip finder.

Book Metabolic if you…
Are on our GLP-1 Weight Loss program and want the companion drip
Are working a plan of your own — food, movement, a coach — and want nutrient support alongside it
Are on GLP-1 medication and finding it hard to drink enough
Already use Lipo-MIC shots and want the fuller version now and then
Skip it, or ask first, if you…
Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or trying to conceive
Have kidney disease, liver disease or heart failure
Have a seizure disorder, or a history of one — this comes up with some of these nutrients and your nurse will ask
Have a thyroid condition or a history of an eating disorder, both of which change the conversation
Have reacted to any ingredient listed above
Our nurse screens for all of this at check-in. When in doubt, come in and ask — the screen is free, and “not today” is an answer we are willing to give.
03 — How it feels

Your hour, minute by minute.

0–5 min
Check-in and screen.
A few questions, your blood pressure, and a conversation about what else you're taking — GLP-1 medication included.
5–10 min
IV placement.
A small needle in the arm or the back of the hand. A quick pinch, then nothing.
10–50 min
The drip.
Recline, blanket, water, Wi-Fi. Some people notice a fishy or metallic taste from the choline — brief, harmless, and worth knowing about in advance so it doesn't alarm you.
After
Back to your day.
No downtime, drive yourself home. B12 will make your urine bright yellow for a day.

06 — Questions

Asked at the desk, answered here.

Will this drip make me lose weight?
No — not on its own, and we won't imply otherwise. What's in the bag are nutrients with a role in how your body processes fat, and they support a plan you're already following. People who lose weight are eating differently, moving more, and often on a physician-supervised program. If someone sells you an IV as a weight-loss treatment, walk out.
What does MIC actually do?
Methionine, inositol and choline are nutrients involved in how the liver handles fat — methionine as an amino acid in fat metabolism, inositol in fat and sugar handling, choline in moving fat out of the liver. Having a role in a process isn't the same as driving it. They're in the Lipo-MIC shot rather than in this drip; the two are usually taken together. That's the honest version, and it's why we describe both as support rather than treatment.
Can I have this while I'm on GLP-1 medication?
Usually, and a lot of our Metabolic patients are. Tell your nurse exactly what you're on and what dose you're at, because it changes the conversation — appetite and thirst both drop on these medicines, and dehydration is common. If you're on our program, Dr. Desai already has the picture.
How often should I come?
Monthly alongside a plan is the usual rhythm, often with a weekly Lipo-MIC shot in between. There's no benefit to stacking them up, and your nurse will tell you if you're spending more than you need to.
What's the difference between this and the Lipo-MIC shot?
Scale and time. The shot is MIC with B12 into muscle in ten minutes and it's cheaper; the drip adds L-carnitine, alpha-lipoic acid and a liter of fluid over 45 minutes. Most people who use both do shots weekly and a drip occasionally — that's the Slim Stack idea.
Why does it taste like fish?
Choline. It gives some people a brief fishy or metallic taste during the infusion. It's harmless and it passes; we mention it because it's startling if nobody warns you.
I just want to lose weight. Where do I start?
The free nurse consult on the GLP-1 Weight Loss page. That's a physician-supervised program with eligibility decided at consultation, and it's a genuinely different thing from a bag of nutrients. Start there, and add this drip later if it fits.
