01 — How it works

Drawn, spun, returned.

Everything happens in one visit, in one room, with your own blood — which is why PRP has one of the cleanest safety profiles in aesthetics.

01
Consultation
A skin or scalp assessment, photographs, and an honest read on what PRP can and can’t do for you. For hair especially, this is where we tell you whether you’re too far along for it to be worth your money.
02
Blood draw
A standard draw, like a lab test — 20 to 40 mL depending on the treatment.
03
Spin
About ten minutes in the centrifuge, which separates platelet-rich plasma from the rest of your blood.
04
Treatment
Microneedled into the skin, or injected into the scalp in a grid. Numbing cream first, then 30 to 40 minutes.
Performed by our registered nurse under a treatment plan from Dr. Vaibhav Desai, MD.

02 — Is it for me?

Best for early and moderate changes.

PRP supports what your body already does. It works best when there’s still something to support — which is the single most useful thing to understand before you book.

A good fit if you…

Notice thinning hair or a widening part, rather than areas with nothing left

Want smoother texture, more even tone, and softening of fine lines

Prefer using your own material over fillers or synthetics

Can commit to a series of three, a month apart

Wait, or ask first, if you…

Are on a blood thinner, or have a platelet or bleeding disorder

Have an active skin infection, or a scalp condition that hasn’t been diagnosed

Are pregnant or breastfeeding

Expect a result from one session — that isn’t how this works

On hair, specifically. PRP supports follicles that are still there. Where hair has been gone for years and the scalp is smooth, the follicles usually aren’t recoverable, and no amount of plasma changes that. At the consultation we’ll look and tell you honestly which category you’re in. Sometimes the right answer is a dermatologist, a prescription, or a transplant surgeon rather than us.
03 — What to expect

Before, during, and after.

Downtime stated honestly. If a treatment needs a week to look good, we tell you so you can plan around it.

01
Day of
Redness and mild swelling, like a sunburn. Scalp tenderness for a day if you’ve had hair treatment.
02
Days 2–5
Skin may feel tight or flake lightly. Makeup after 24 hours; normal hair washing after 24 hours.
03
Weeks 3–6
Skin: the first visible change in glow and texture. Hair: shedding can briefly increase before new growth — that surprises people who weren’t warned, so we’re warning you.
04
Months 3–6
The full result of a series. Maintenance every six to twelve months.
Individual results vary, and they vary more with hair than with skin.

Does PRP really regrow hair?
It supports follicles that are still active, and many patients see thicker, denser hair across a series. It does not bring back hair from a follicle that’s gone, and anyone promising you that is selling. What we’ll do at the consultation is look at your scalp and tell you which of those two situations you’re in — that conversation is worth having even if you never book a session.
+
What’s the difference between PRP and PRF filler?
Same tube of blood, different preparation. PRP is spun fast, stays liquid, and is used to treat skin and scalp. PRF filler is spun slowly without anticoagulant and then heated into a gel that adds volume. PRP treats; PRF fills.
+
Does it hurt?
The draw is a lab test. For skin, numbing cream goes on first and people rate the microneedling around a 2 or 3 out of 10. Scalp injections are more noticeable — a series of quick stings over a few minutes, and it’s over before most people have settled into disliking it.
+
How many sessions will I need?
Three, about a month apart, is the standard plan for both skin and hair, then maintenance every six to twelve months. One session tells you very little. If you can only afford one, we’d honestly rather you saved up for the series.
+
Can I do PRP and exosomes in the same session?
Ask at your consultation. It’s a question about what’s sensible in one appointment rather than about safety — see exosomes.
+
Is it safe? It’s my own blood.
That’s the appeal: no foreign material and no risk of reacting to a product. The blood never leaves the room and everything is single-use and sterile. The remaining risks are the ordinary ones — bruising, swelling, tenderness, and infection at the site, which is rare.
+
Will I need to stop any medication first?
Tell us everything you take at the consultation, particularly blood thinners, aspirin and anti-inflammatories, since they affect platelets. Never stop a prescribed medicine on your own to prepare for a cosmetic treatment — if something needs adjusting, that’s a conversation between us and whoever prescribed it.
