V-Tone — pelvic floor strengthening

V-Tone by InMode is a gentle, non-surgical treatment that uses a small intravaginal applicator to deliver electrical muscle stimulation to the pelvic-floor muscles, strengthening them the way Kegels are meant to — without you having to do them. At LUX Med Clinic in Wynne, AR sessions take about 30 minutes with no downtime, and most patients do a series of six to ten, often paired with Forma V. It is quoted at a private consultation.

Pelvic floor strengthening
Your calendar entry reads “Private Consultation”
Nothing else.
Not on your confirmation, not on your reminder, not on anything we send you. The people at our front desk know how to have this conversation quietly.
01 — How it works

Thirty minutes. You lie there.

Electrical muscle stimulation makes a muscle contract far more, and far more completely, than you can voluntarily. For the pelvic floor — a muscle group most people cannot reliably find, let alone train — that is the entire point.

01
Private consultation
Your history, what you’ve noticed, what you’ve already tried, and whether this is the right thing. Candidacy is decided here.
02
Placement
A small applicator is placed intravaginally. You’re clothed from the waist up throughout, and a clinician is in the room the whole time.
03
The session
About thirty minutes of rhythmic contractions, adjusted to a level you can hold comfortably. Most people read or use their phone.
04
The series
Usually six to ten sessions, generally twice a week. Changes build across the series and settle in the one to two weeks after the last one.
A female registered nurse is available on request, and performs or assists under a treatment plan from Dr. Vaibhav Desai, MD. Ask when you book — it is a normal request and nobody will make anything of it.

02 — Is it for me?

Who chooses V-Tone.

These are reasons to have a consultation, not a diagnosis. What’s causing your symptoms is decided in the room, not on a web page.

A good fit if you…

After childbirth, when things haven’t gone back to how they were

When they notice bladder leakage on coughing, laughing, sneezing or exercise

When Kegels haven’t worked, or they’ve never been confident they were doing them correctly

When they want stronger pelvic-floor muscles and would rather not do the work themselves

Alongside Forma V, which many patients have in the same visit

Wait, or ask first, if you…

Are pregnant, or think you might be

Have a pacemaker, defibrillator or any implanted electronic device

Have an active infection, including a urinary or vaginal infection

Have an IUD, or a pelvic condition your own doctor is managing

Have had recent pelvic surgery

All of this is decided at your consultation, and some of it means we say no, or not yet. What we won’t tell you: that this cures incontinence. Bladder leakage has several causes, some of which have nothing to do with muscle strength, and strengthening the pelvic floor helps some women a great deal and others not at all. Your consultation is where we work out which you’re likely to be — and if the answer is that you need a urogynecologist or a pelvic-floor physiotherapist rather than us, we’ll say so.
03 — What to expect

Before, during, and after.

No numbing, no recovery, and nothing to arrange afterwards.

01
The session itself
Rhythmic contractions — a strange sensation the first time, and not a painful one. You can ask for the intensity to come down at any point.
02
Straight afterwards
No downtime at all. Drive yourself, go back to work, go to the gym if that was your plan.
03
Across the series
Most women start noticing a difference partway through rather than after the first session. It builds.
04
One to two weeks after the last session
Where the result settles. Whether you need maintenance sessions later is decided then, not now.
Individual results vary, and this is a treatment where they vary a good deal.
04 — Pairs with Forma V

Two treatments, two different tissues.

Forma V uses radiofrequency and works on tissue. V-Tone uses electrical muscle stimulation and works on muscle. They address different things, which is why they’re often done in the same visit rather than instead of one another.

Whether you need one, the other, or both is a consultation question. Plenty of people come in for one and leave with a plan for the other, and plenty leave with a plan for neither.

05 — Pricing

$199 per session.

Is it embarrassing?
Less than you’re expecting, and we’ve built the visit so it isn’t. Private room, a clinician who does this every week, a female registered nurse available on request, and a calendar entry that says “Private Consultation” and nothing more. You’re clothed from the waist up. Most people say the hardest part was booking it.
+
Does it hurt?
No. The contractions are strong and unusual rather than painful, and the intensity is adjusted to what you can comfortably hold. Say the word and it comes down.
+
How is this different from pelvic floor physical therapy?
They’re complementary rather than competing. A pelvic-floor physiotherapist assesses how you’re using the muscles and teaches you to use them properly, which is work V-Tone doesn’t do. V-Tone contracts the muscle for you, far more times than you could manage in a session. Plenty of women do both, and if you already have a therapist we’re happy to coordinate with them.
+
How many sessions will I need?
Usually six to ten, generally twice a week, then a review. Your plan is set at your consultation, and if partway through it’s clear this isn’t working for you, we’d rather tell you than sell you the rest of the series.
+
Can I have it during my period?
It’s usually more comfortable to reschedule, and there’s no penalty for doing so — tell the front desk and we’ll move it. That’s a normal call and nobody needs an explanation.
+
Does insurance cover it?
No. V-Tone is cash-pay, and we don’t provide a superbill for it. Cherry financing is available across a series.
+
Will it help with sex?
That’s a question for your consultation with Dr. Desai, and the honest answer is that it depends on what’s behind the concern. What we can say on a web page is what V-Tone does: it strengthens the pelvic-floor muscles. We don’t make claims beyond that, and we’d be skeptical of a clinic that does.
+
Can I do it after having a baby?
Postpartum is one of the most common reasons women come in for this. The timing matters — how long it’s been, how the delivery went, whether you’re breastfeeding, and what your own doctor or midwife has said. Bring all of that to the consultation.
