GLP-1 weight loss with a doctor in the room.
GLP-1 Weight Loss at LUX Med Clinic in Wynne, AR is a physician-supervised program: a free nurse consult, labs, a plan from Dr. Vaibhav Desai, MD, weekly GLP-1 injections where clinically appropriate, and a monthly check-in that tracks seven things rather than just the scale. Programs run from $199 a month for semaglutide or $299 a month for tirzepatide, medication included, after a $99 start visit credited to your first month. Eligibility is decided at consultation, medication is prescribed only after a medical evaluation, and none of it replaces eating and moving differently.
Four steps. No guessing.
Every program starts with medicine, not a sales pitch. If you’re not a candidate for medication, we’ll tell you — and build a plan that still works.
Free nurse consult.
Ten minutes, in person or by text, at no cost and with nothing to sign. What you’ve tried, what got in the way, what the program actually involves. Plenty of people stop here, and that’s a fine outcome.
Start visit, labs and eligibility.
$99, credited to your first month. A full history with our clinician, then a metabolic panel, thyroid and A1c. Dr. Desai reviews your results and decides what is safe and useful for you — that decision is medical, and it isn’t negotiable by anyone at the front desk.
Your plan.
Nutrition and movement you can actually keep up, plus prescription support where clinically appropriate, with the side effects explained before you take anything rather than after.
Weekly injections and a monthly check-in.
Your weekly injection, in clinic or take-home according to your plan. Once a month you come in and we go through seven things: weight, waist, body-fat percentage, blood pressure, energy, sleep, and appetite. The scale is one of seven for a reason — month two is often where the scale stalls and everything else moves.
Prefer to self-administer? After your consultation and first dose with us, eligible Arkansas patients can have subsequent doses shipped to their home, with check-ins with our team along the way.
Between visits, text your nurse. Not a chatbot, not a portal ticket, not a queue — the nurse who knows your plan. Side effects, a missed dose, a bad week: message her.
Seven things, not one.
Every monthly check-in records all seven. The mint line is the scale. The gold lines are the other six.
Month two. The scale stalls for many people right here — and six other things keep moving. That is why the check-in tracks seven, not one.

An honest fit check.
Medication is a tool, not the program. Whether you qualify for it is a medical decision made at consultation, on your history and your labs — not on what you’d like the answer to be.
Have tried changing how you eat and move, and plateaued
Want medical oversight rather than an app and a subscription box
Can commit to coming in once a month
Want to understand the medication before you take it
Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning a pregnancy
Have a personal or family history that Dr. Desai flags at your consultation — thyroid cancer, certain endocrine conditions, pancreatitis and a few others come up here
Have a history of an eating disorder, which changes the conversation and sometimes ends it
Want a prescription without the follow-up
What we prescribe, and what that means.
We use semaglutide and tirzepatide, the two GLP-1 medications most used for weight management, where they are clinically appropriate for you. Which one — or neither — is Dr. Desai’s decision.
Semaglutide and tirzepatide at LUX Med Clinic are compounded medications. Doses given in the clinic are supplied by an FDA-registered 503B outsourcing facility; take-home prescriptions are prepared for you by a licensed 503A compounding pharmacy. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved as finished products and are prescribed only after a consultation with our provider.
GLP-1 medicines mimic a hormone your gut already makes after eating. They slow how quickly your stomach empties and reduce appetite signalling, so you feel full sooner and think about food less. That’s what makes eating differently possible — it doesn’t do the eating for you.
Nausea, constipation, diarrhoea, reflux and fatigue are the usual ones, most often in the first weeks and after a dose increase. Serious problems are uncommon but real, including pancreatitis and gallbladder problems. We go through the full list at your consultation, we start low and increase slowly to reduce the worst of it, and this is exactly what texting your nurse between visits is for.
One monthly price. Everything included.
What goes with it.
Three things that work alongside the program. None of them is a substitute for it, and we say so on their pages too.
The companion drip, at member price on your monthly visit. Support alongside the program, not a substitute for it.
One a month is in your program; the Lipo Shot Club covers the rest if you want them weekly.
Muscle, not fat. A different job entirely, and a common pairing once weight is moving. We keep that distinction honest on both pages.
