Filler made from you.

PRF filler — sometimes called natural filler or bio-filler — is a soft gel made from a small sample of your own blood: platelet-rich fibrin that is gently heated and cooled until it holds volume. At LUX Med Clinic in Wynne, AR it’s injected where the face has hollowed — under-eyes, temples, smile lines, cheeks — for gradual, subtle improvement over four to eight weeks, with no synthetic filler and no additives. Most people do a series of two to three sessions, at $549 each or $1,395 for a series of three.

From your own blood
Nothing in it but you
One small blood draw, spun, heated and cooled.
No hyaluronic acid, no fillers, no additives — which is the whole reason people choose it.

PRF filler is subtle and gradual. If you want an obvious change next week, this isn’t it — and we’d rather tell you that at the consultation than take your money for a series that won’t do what you had in mind.

01 — How it works

Your blood, in about half an hour.

The whole thing happens in the room while you wait. Nothing is sent away, nothing is added, and nothing comes out of a box with a brand on it.

01
The draw
A small blood sample from your arm, exactly like a lab test. Takes a minute.
02
The spin
Your sample goes in the centrifuge, spun slowly and without anticoagulant, which is what separates platelet-rich fibrin from plasma and red cells. The slow spin is the difference between PRF and PRP.
03
Heat and cool
The PRF is warmed and then cooled under controlled conditions until it thickens into a gel that holds its shape. This is the step that turns a liquid into a filler.
04
The injection
Numbing cream first, then the gel is placed where the face has lost volume. About twenty to thirty minutes in the room, start to finish.
Injected by our registered nurse under a treatment plan from Dr. Vaibhav Desai, MD.

02 — Is it for me?

For hollows, not for big changes.

PRF gel adds a modest amount of volume and supports your own collagen over the following weeks. It’s very good at softening a hollow. It cannot build a jawline or double the volume of a lip, and any clinic telling you otherwise is overselling it. Not used for lip volume — if lips are your goal, that’s a conversation about a different product, and we’ll say so plainly rather than talking you into a series.

A good fit if you…

Want something made from your own tissue, with nothing synthetic in it

Are bothered by under-eye hollowing or a tired look rather than by lines

Are happy with change that builds over weeks rather than appearing today

Can commit to a series of two to three sessions

Wait, or ask first, if you…

Are pregnant or breastfeeding

Have a blood disorder, or take an anticoagulant

Have an active infection, or a skin infection at the treatment site

Have an autoimmune condition, or a history of blood cancer

Want a large, immediate volume change — that’s not what this does

Used for under-eye hollows and the shadowing that comes with them, temples, nasolabial folds, cheeks for gentle support, and the backs of the hands. All of it is decided at your consultation, and Dr. Desai’s treatment plan is what governs it.
03 — What to expect

Before, during, and after.

Downtime stated honestly. If a treatment needs a week to look good, we tell you so you can plan around it.

01
Day of
Swelling at the treated areas, sometimes more than you expect under the eyes. Bruising is common with any injection near the eye. Plan a quiet evening.
02
Days 1–2
Swelling settles. This is the stretch where people who weren’t warned get worried, which is why we’re warning you.
03
Up to a week
Any bruising fades. Makeup covers it from about day two.
04
Weeks 4–8
The real result arrives as the gel integrates and your own collagen responds. Photographs at week eight, not week one.
How long it lasts: typically six to twelve months after a full series, and individual results vary — with your own tissue, more than with a synthetic product. Some people hold it noticeably longer, some come back sooner.

Medically reviewed by Dr. Vaibhav Desai, MD — last reviewed September 20, 2026
Is this the same as PRP?
No, though they start the same way. PRP is spun fast, usually with an anticoagulant, and stays liquid — it’s what we use for microneedling and hair. PRF is spun slower and without anticoagulant, which keeps more of the fibrin and platelets, and here it’s then heated and cooled until it becomes a gel. PRP treats the skin; PRF gel adds volume. Different products from the same tube of blood.
+
How is it different from regular filler?
Regular filler is hyaluronic acid — a synthetic gel that adds volume immediately and typically lasts six to eighteen months. PRF filler is made from you, adds volume gradually over four to eight weeks, and typically lasts six to twelve months after a series. HA can do large volume changes and PRF can’t. Neither is unsafe and neither is “better” — they do different jobs, and plenty of people end up having both, for different areas.
+
Will I bruise?
Possibly, particularly under the eyes, where the skin is thin and bruising is common with any injection. It fades within a week and makeup covers it from about day two. Don’t book this for the week of a wedding — book it two months before one.
+
Can it be dissolved if I don’t like it?
No, and this is the honest trade-off. HA filler can be dissolved with an enzyme; PRF gel is your own tissue and your body reabsorbs it gradually over months. That’s a reason to start conservatively, which is how we plan it — and a reason to be sure before you start.
+
How many sessions will I need?
Most people need 2–3 sessions about 4–6 weeks apart, with results building gradually. One session shows you the direction; the series is what holds it. Your plan is set at your consultation.
+
Can I combine it with Daxxify?
Yes, and it’s a common pairing — they do opposite jobs. Daxxify relaxes the muscles behind lines that appear when you move; PRF fills hollows that are there when your face is still. Your clinician will tell you which of the two is actually behind what’s bothering you, and it’s often not the one people expect.
+
Does it hurt?
The blood draw is a lab test. The injections are done after numbing cream and are described as pressure more than pain, though under the eye is more sensitive than the cheek. About twenty to thirty minutes in the room.
+
Is it safe, given it’s made from my own blood?
That’s the main appeal — there’s no foreign material, so no risk of reacting to a product. The blood never leaves the room and is handled with single-use sterile equipment. The risks that remain are the ordinary ones of any injection: bruising, swelling, infection at the site, and lumpiness if it’s placed poorly, which is what technique and a treatment plan are for.
