Thinning hair, a real plan.

Hair Restoration at LUX Med Clinic in Wynne, AR is a hair program for thinning hair that combines in-office PRP with scalp microneedling and, where it’s appropriate, prescription medication. A PRP scalp session is $449, or $1,199 for a series of three. Usually 3 sessions about 4 weeks apart, then maintenance every 4–6 months.

Scalp Follicles
Two parts
In the office, and at home.
PRP with scalp microneedling here. Prescription support where it suits you.

Hair restoration supports hair that is still growing. Where the scalp has been smooth for years, the follicles usually aren’t recoverable, and we’ll tell you that at the consultation rather than sell you a series.

01 — How it works

Two parts, one plan.

What happens in the office works on the scalp directly. What you take at home, if anything, works between visits. Which parts you need is decided at your consultation.

01
Consultation
A look at your scalp, your history and the pattern of thinning, with photographs so progress is measured rather than guessed.
02
Prescription review
If medication might help, a virtual consultation with Dr. Vaibhav Desai, MD. A plan may include minoxidil (oral or topical), finasteride for men or spironolactone for women — only if it’s appropriate for you. Not everyone is a candidate.
03
PRP and microneedling
A small blood draw is spun to concentrate the platelets. After numbing, the scalp is microneedled and the plasma applied.
04
Series and maintenance
Usually 3 sessions about 4 weeks apart, then maintenance every 4–6 months.
Performed by our registered nurse under a treatment plan from Dr. Vaibhav Desai, MD.

The exosome add-on

Applied to the scalp, never injected.

Topical exosome products are cosmetic and are not FDA-approved drugs. We do not inject exosomes. If you add the serum, it is applied to the scalp straight after microneedling, and it’s priced at your visit. More about exosomes.

02 — Is it for me?

For hair that is thinning, not gone.

This supports follicles that are still working. It is most useful early, and it asks for patience: hair grows slowly, and so does any change.

A good fit if you…

Notice more shedding, a widening part or a thinner ponytail

Have thinning that started in the last few years

Can commit to a series and to maintenance visits

Are open to a prescription if Dr. Desai thinks it would help — or would rather not, which is fine too

Wait, or ask first, if you…

Are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning a pregnancy — several hair medicines are not used then

Are on a blood thinner, or have a platelet or bleeding disorder

Have an active scalp infection, or a scalp condition that hasn’t been diagnosed

Have sudden or patchy hair loss — that wants a diagnosis first

Decided at your consultation. Medication is prescribed only after a medical evaluation, and possible side effects are discussed then. Not everyone is a candidate for every part of the plan.
03 — What to expect

Slow, on purpose.

Hair grows slowly, so nothing here is quick. We’d rather say that now than at your third visit.

05 — Questions

Asked at the desk, answered here.

Does hair restoration actually work?
It supports follicles that are still active, and many people see less shedding and, over months, thicker hair. It does not bring back hair from a follicle that’s gone, and anyone promising you that is selling. At the consultation we look at your scalp and tell you which situation you’re in. Individual results vary.
+
How many sessions will I need?
Usually 3 sessions about 4 weeks apart, then maintenance every 4–6 months. One session on its own tells you very little.
+
Do I have to take medication?
No. Prescription support is part of the program, not a requirement. After a virtual consultation with Dr. Vaibhav Desai, MD, a plan may include minoxidil (oral or topical), finasteride for men or spironolactone for women — only if it’s appropriate for you, and not everyone is a candidate. Possible side effects are discussed at that consultation, and the medication is priced separately.
+
How soon will I see a difference?
Many people notice less shedding within a few weeks; changes in thickness usually take 3–6 months. Consistency and maintenance matter. The photographs at each visit are how we judge it, because day to day in a mirror you won’t see it.
+
Does it hurt?
The blood draw is like a lab test. The scalp is numbed before microneedling, and most people describe pressure and a scratchy feeling rather than pain. The scalp can be tender for a day.
+
Can I add exosomes?
Yes, as an add-on, priced at your visit. The serum is applied to the scalp after microneedling. Topical exosome products are cosmetic and are not FDA-approved drugs. We do not inject exosomes.
